How much does AI SEO cost? What you get for your money at each price level
2026-09-22 · Martin Nymann · 7 min reading
AI SEO is free if you do it yourself, and costs up to over 35,000 SEK a month if you use a Swedish agency. We’ve compiled the published prices for tools, consultants and agencies in Denmark, Sweden and Norway, and explain what you get at each level. The biggest difference isn’t the price, but whether someone corrects the errors on your website.
Key takeaways
- AI SEO is available at three price points: a tool from €39 per month, a consultant from 800 DKK per hour and an agency from 495 DKK per month in Denmark, 6,995 SEK in Sweden and 8,500 NOK in Norway.
- Many tools simply measure. They tell you where your AI responses are falling short, but don’t make any changes to your website, so you have to pay extra for the work.
- Swedish and Norwegian agencies are more expensive than Danish ones, mainly because many of their packages also include copywriting and ongoing work.
- Choose the level based on what’s missing: if the problem is technical, a tool that fixes it is usually enough. If you’re missing content, you’ll need a human.
- Always ask whether the corrections will be carried out or merely recommended, how often measurements are taken, and whether the price includes or excludes VAT.

AI SEO is free if you do it yourself, and costs up to over 35,000 SEK a month through a Swedish agency. A tool typically costs between €39 and 645 DKK per month, a consultant between 800 DKK and 1,600 NOK per hour, and an agency from 495 DKK a month in Denmark and from 8,500 NOK in Norway. The biggest difference isn’t the price, but whether someone actually fixes the errors on your website, or whether you’re simply told that they exist.
In short: choose the level based on who is going to do the work. A monitoring tool tells you whether ChatGPT and the other AI assistants mention you. A tool that also corrects errors takes care of the technical side for you. A consultant or agency will also write the copy and take responsibility for it. All prices in this article are taken from the providers’ own websites in Denmark, Sweden and Norway and were checked on 22 September 2026.

How much does AI SEO cost in Denmark, Sweden and Norway?
The price depends on which of the three levels you choose: a tool, a consultant on an hourly basis, or an agency on a monthly contract. Here are the published prices we have been able to find and verify in the three countries. Each amount is quoted in the currency used by the provider itself.
| Tier | Denmark | Sweden | Norway | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Do-it-yourself | Free | Free | Free | About 45 minutes of your own time per week |
| Tools that measure | Synbar from 345 DKK/month · Otterly from 29 USD/month · Peec AI from 95 USD/month | Notification when AI mentions you. You correct it yourself | ||
| Tools that also correct | Geoa from €39/month | Weekly monitoring and technical corrections carried out. You approve | ||
| Consultant on an hourly basis | 800 DKK per hour | 1,100 SEK/hour | 1,000–1,600 NOK/hour | A person who does exactly what you ask |
| Agency on a monthly contract | 495 DKK to 1,000 DKK per month | 6,995–35,000 SEK/month | 8,500–30,000 NOK/month | Measurements, corrections, copywriting and a dedicated contact person |
Two things stand out. The first is the range: from a free routine that you run yourself, to over 35,000 SEK a month. The second is the country: the Danish agencies’ prices are significantly lower than those of the Swedish and Norwegian ones, and a large part of the explanation lies in what’s included. The cheapest Danish offers mainly cover measurement, whilst several Swedish and Norwegian packages also include copywriting and ongoing work. You should therefore always compare what’s included, not just the price.
What do you get with a tool?
A tool gives you an overview of what ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI responses say when your customers ask about your industry, and how often you yourself are mentioned. However, the tools fall into two groups, and the difference between them determines what you’ll end up paying in total.
Tools that only measure. Synbar costs 345 DKK per month (excl. VAT) for 50 queries across two AI platforms, measured daily. Otterly starts at 29 USD a month for 15 questions, and Peec AI at 95 USD for 50. You’ll be told where you’re falling short, but neither of them makes any changes to your website. You’ll have to do that work yourself – or pay someone else to do it – afterwards.
Tools that also correct. At Geoa, the Starter plan costs €39 a month. Every week, it measures how the AI responds to 25 of your customers’ questions, identifies the technical errors that make it difficult for the AI to read your site, and applies the corrections directly to your website once you’ve approved them (on WordPress via our plugin). The Pro and Business plans cost €99 and €199 respectively, and monitor performance daily, track your competitors and cover more questions.
The calculation is therefore not 345 DKK versus €39. It is the monitoring tool plus the time it takes to carry out the tasks identified by the monitoring tool. Two hours of consultancy per month at 800 DKK makes a measurement tool cost around 1,945 DKK per month.
What do you get from a consultant on an hourly basis?
A consultant provides you with a person who does exactly what you ask for, and nothing else. This is the right choice for a specific task: a website review, a rewrite of the most important pages, or help getting started.
- Denmark: Kreer charges 800 DKK per hour excluding VAT for SEO.
- Sweden: Freelancer Filippa Storm charges 1,100 SEK per hour.
- Norway: the agency Snitt Reklame states that SEO consultants typically cost 1,000–1,600 NOK per hour. We found no Norwegian freelancers who publish their own hourly rates.
The hourly rate is fair, but it has an inherent drawback: AI responses change constantly, and a consultant only checks them when you pay for it. For ongoing management – that is, the weekly check to see if you’re still featured in the responses – hourly rates quickly become the most expensive option.
What do you get from an agency?
An agency gives you the full package: monitoring, corrections, new copy and a dedicated contact person to call. On the other hand, this is where prices vary the most, and many agencies do not publish their prices at all.
- Denmark: the smallest providers charge low rates. Citeret costs 495 DKK per month excluding VAT, and tracks each month who is being mentioned and what corrections would help. SETION starts at 1,000 DKK per month.
- Sweden: Fastprishemsida sells AI optimisation for 6,995 SEK, 11,995 SEK and 19,995 SEK per month. The most expensive package includes four AI-optimised blog posts per month. Heartspace charges 30,000 SEK for an analysis and 35,000 SEK per month for a package where AI visibility forms part of the PR work.
- Norway: Norway’s SEO starts at NOK 8,500 per month for a package that also targets AI search, whilst Nettpilot starts at NOK 9,900 for an ongoing partnership. The Norwegian agency Wud estimates the typical rate at 8,000–30,000 NOK per month for a small business.
What you pay extra for with an agency is, above all, the content and the judgement: what should be said about you, and which issues are worth fighting for. A machine cannot decide that for you. If you need this, an agency is the right choice, even if it costs more.
Which level suits your business?
Start by asking what’s missing from your set-up: is it the technical side, or is it the content? The answer determines the level.
- Choose to do it yourself if you have 45 minutes a week and don’t mind checking robots.txt, writing a llms.txt and asking ChatGPT about your industry. The whole process is set out here.
- Choose a tool that corrects automatically if you want the analysis and technical corrections carried out every week, without meetings and without needing to understand the technical side yourself. This suits most small businesses.
- Choose a consultant if you have a single, specific task, such as a review of your website ahead of a relaunch.
- Choose an agency if you don’t want to write the content yourself, have multiple brands, or operate in a sector with specific rules on what you’re allowed to write, or if you want a single provider for your website, adverts and AI visibility.
Many end up with a combination: a tool for day-to-day operations and a human consultant brought in for major changes. If you’d like to see how tools and agencies in Denmark compare in detail, we’ve compared them here.
What should you ask before you pay?
Four questions reveal what you’re actually getting for your money, whether you’re buying a tool or hiring an agency:
- Are the corrections actually implemented, or merely recommended? This is the question that makes the biggest difference. A report that nobody acts on changes nothing.
- How often are measurements taken? One measurement a month could mean a problem goes unchecked for four weeks before anyone notices it.
- Which AI assistants are covered? ChatGPT on its own isn’t enough. Your customers also use Perplexity, Copilot and Google’s AI responses.
- Is the price inclusive or exclusive of VAT, and is there a minimum contract period? Many providers do not specify VAT, and an annual contract changes the cost.
And be sceptical of promises that AI will recommend your business. No one can control what an AI assistant says. What we can honestly promise is that AI can read and find your website and use it as a source. To find out why, we’ve analysed 465 businesses. Frequently asked questions
How much does AI SEO cost per month?
It’s free if you do it yourself, and costs up to over 35,000 SEK through a Swedish agency. Most tools cost between €39 and 645 DKK a month, whilst agencies start at 495 DKK in Denmark, 6,995 SEK in Sweden and 8,500 NOK in Norway. The price depends largely on whether someone is carrying out the corrections and writing the copy for you.
Why are agencies in Sweden and Norway more expensive than in Denmark?
Mainly because the packages include more. The cheapest Danish offers are mostly about measurement and recommendations, whilst several Swedish and Norwegian packages also include new content, ongoing optimisation and a dedicated contact person. Always compare the content, not just the price.
Is a tool enough, or do I need an agency?
If your problem is technical – for example, if AI can’t read your page – a tool that corrects the issue is usually sufficient. If you lack content that answers your customers’ questions, or if you don’t want to write it yourself at all, you’ll need a human: a consultant for a single task or an agency for ongoing work.
What’s the difference between a tool that measures and one that corrects?
A tool that measures tells you when AI mentions you and where you’re missing out. A tool that corrects also fixes the technical errors on your website once you’ve approved the changes. With a monitoring tool, you – or someone you pay – have to do the work afterwards.
Can I do AI SEO for free myself?
Yes, most of it. You can check robots.txt, write a llms.txt, add structured data to the page and even ask ChatGPT about your industry. It takes about 45 minutes a week. If your time is worth more than 100 DKK an hour, a tool is cheaper than doing it yourself.
Next step: work out what level you need before you pay for anything. The free test shows in 60 seconds whether what’s missing from your website is technical or content-related, and therefore whether you need a tool or a human. If you have any questions, please email contact@addonnordic.dk, and we’ll reply within one working day.
