Geoa vs AthenaHQ — Who offers the best value for SMEs?
AthenaHQ has a strong GEO rating with a free tier and a Starter plan at $295 per month. Geoa offers the same action-oriented approach in Danish — from 299 kr per month.
AthenaHQ offers the most generous free plan in the market: five AI models, unlimited users and $25 in credits, all without having to pay a penny. If you just want to see whether the AI mentions you at all, you can get a long way without paying — and we’re happy to say that, even though it doesn’t benefit us.
The leap from there, however, is a big one: the next tier is $295 a month. And their strength lies in telling you exactly what needs fixing — not in fixing it themselves.

Choose AthenaHQ if…
You want a robust free plan to get started, you work in English, and you have someone in-house who can implement the on-page and off-page changes recommended by them.
Choose Geoa if…
You want a fixed price in Danish kroner rather than credits; you want the corrections to be carried out rather than merely recommended; and you want Danish language and industry benchmarks for the CVR data.

Recommendation or implementation
AthenaHQ Content identifies the gaps that are preventing you from being cited and tells you exactly what to correct — both on-page and off-page. They document the llms.txt configuration and explain how your robots.txt should allow OpenAI’s crawlers, such as OAI-SearchBot and GPTBot, to access your site. It is thorough and technically sound.
But this is just guidance. You or your developer will need to carry it out. Geoa’s Auto Fix writes the same files directly to your site and monitors whether a theme update overwrites them again. If you have a technical expert, AthenaHQ’s recommendations might even be better than our automated system, as they are more detailed. If you don’t, nothing will happen.
Credits make the price hard to predict
AthenaHQ charges in credits: 300 on the free Essential plan, 3,600 per month on the Starter plan at $295, and on a case-by-case basis for the Enterprise plan. This model is common in the industry and makes sense when usage fluctuates.
It also means that your bill depends on how much you use the tool — and that it’s difficult to say in advance how much a year will cost. Geoa has a fixed price: 299, 799 or 1,499 kr per month, and the limit is based on the number of questions, not credit usage. We’re not claiming that credits are a trap; we’re saying that a fixed price is easier to budget for if you’re a small business.
Language: we were wrong, and here is the correct version
We previously stated that AthenaHQ is available only in English. This is incorrect — their Enterprise plan explicitly mentions support for multiple regions and languages. This has been corrected.
What we can say with certainty is this: they do not publish a list of supported languages, their only support channel is support@athenahq.ai, and there is no documented support for Danish. Nor is there any mention of Google Business Profile, CVR or Danish industry data anywhere on their website. This is not to say that it does not exist — it simply means that if you need it, you will have to ask them.
Compliance and the company
AthenaHQ is operated by Nuvotech Inc., which is based on Indiana Street in San Francisco, and the place of jurisdiction is California. They are more transparent about compliance than most: SOC II Type 2 certification, declared full GDPR compliance for EU and UK data processing, and the NIST Level 3 framework.
This is more robust evidence than many European tools provide, and it would be disingenuous to use ‘American’ as a scare tactic here. The difference is that Geoa is a Danish company with EU data storage, whilst the Danish CVR — which is relevant if your procurement policy requires a European supplier, not because AthenaHQ is sloppy with data.
