Geoa vs Profound — SMEs vs American enterprise

Profound is one of the most sophisticated GEO tools on the market, and it can do something we cannot: its Agents identify the topics the AI references, write the articles and publish them directly to your CMS following an approval stage. We previously reported that they did not have an auto-fix feature and were not compatible with SMEs. Both of these statements were incorrect, and this has now been rectified.

The difference that really matters lies in their pricing structure: the Starter plan at $99 a month only tracks ChatGPT. If you want to view Perplexity, Gemini or Copilot, you’ll need to upgrade to the Growth plan at $399.

The price masks the most significant limitation

$99 a month sounds reasonable for a GEO platform. But Profound’s Starter plan covers just one engine: ChatGPT. 50 prompts, email support, and nothing else. It’s effectively a ChatGPT monitoring tool, not a GEO platform.

The Growth plan at $399 includes three engines and 100 prompts. All ten engines require the Enterprise plan, which is priced individually. By way of comparison, Geoa comprises five AI models — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews — from 299 kr a month, with no tiers to work your way up through. If you only use ChatGPT, Profound Starter is fine. If you need to cover the channel, the maths changes.

They publish content. We sort out the technical side. It’s not the same thing

Profound Agents writes articles and publishes them to your CMS — WordPress, Vercel, Netlify and others — with an approval step before anything goes live. It’s impressive, and it’s a more automated approach to content production than what we offer.

Geoa’s Auto Fix does something different: it writes llms.txt, robots.txt and schema markup directly into your site, and catches it if a theme update overwrites the fix again. This is technical infrastructure, not editorial content. The two approaches each solve their own half of the problem, and it’s worth knowing which half you’re missing before you make your choice.

Danish: what we know and what we don’t know

Profound offers its product interface in over 30 languages and supports more than 150 regions in its prompts. We cannot tell whether Danish is among the 30 languages — they do not publish a list. The language of support is not specified either; it only states that email support and Slack support are available on the Enterprise plan.

We are therefore not claiming that Profound does not support Danish. We are saying that this has not been documented anywhere, and that there is no Danish legal entity, no Danish support policy and no Danish industry data. At Geoa, the entire product is in Danish — including the generated content and the benchmark against your sector based on CVR data.

Data and jurisdiction

Profound is operated by Cooper Square Technologies Inc., which is based at Union Square West in New York. They recognise data transfers from the EEA and the UK and handle them using standard contractual clauses, and they offer SOC 2 certification — but only on the Enterprise plan.

We do not wish to suggest that this is a GDPR issue; that would be an unsubstantiated claim, and we ourselves have been too quick to make such claims in the past. What is verifiable is this: Profound is a US company with no establishment in the EU, whilst Geoa is a Danish company with data storage in the EU. Whether this has any bearing on your procurement policy is something you know better than we do.
